v1.10 · Every career and every child you raise gives the whole region something back.
A Sim actively employed in a career is exempt from that career's own restriction — but only for actions required to do the job or build its required skills. Personal and narrow: nobody else in the household may use the object, and the practitioner gets no other benefit. It does not free them from anyone else's restriction. Without this rule about 25 of the unlocks below are impossible.
Restrictions grouped by how bad they are to live under. You don't have to clear them in order, but this is where the pain is.
Track who's alive, what traits they rolled, and which career each one is committed to. One career per Sim, per lifetime — the board enforces it. A Sim marked Completed has spent their slot and can't be planned onto another unlock.
Two ways through the same challenge. Change your mind whenever you like — this is per run, and switching it on backfills any branch you have already cleared.
The Blackout Rule: if you don't own the pack, that part of the world never went dark. Its restrictions don't apply and its careers aren't required. Tick only what you own.
Splitting is gated by The Coming of Age — one qualifying child, one split. Journalist gates settling in a different world. Newcrest settlements are worth double. Households you add on the Households tab count here automatically.
